Cutting & Installation

  • Cutting with hard-metal tipped circular saw, skill saw (diamond blade, stone saw)
  • Drilling and routing: Use tools for wood or stone
  • Flexibility can be increased by applying heat (using heat-gun around 400°C)
 

Product Composition

  • Thin natural slate / quartzite / phyllite stones merged under a physical / chemical process with a backing of polyester resin and fiberglass which gives strength plus flexibility altogether.

Specifications

  • 100 % natural stone surface
  • Thickness: 1 mm to 2 mm (we can maintain to 1 mm)
  • Weight: 1.5 Kgs. to 1.6 Kgs. Per Square Meter
  • Sizes: 1220mm x 610 mm (48“x24“) & 600 mm x 300 mm, + / - 2 mm dimensional tolerance, Special sizes on request
  • Although it is thin flexible but it is harder and stronger than slate tiles by reinforcing with polyester resin
  • Also suitable for corners
  • Translucent versions for backlighting (e. g., LEDs)
  • Resistant to deformation, water-resistant and freeze-proof like glass (very suitable for façade mounting)

Care Instructions

  • When being applied on high traffic areas, such as industrial floors and outdoors, a 2 component PU sealer is recommended. (KLB 800E)
  • For lower traffic areas such as private homes or apartments we recommend water based Impregnator.
  • All natural stone surfaces, even if it is impregnated (sealed), must be wiped moist regularly. The care cleaner should be mixed with water and then mopped over the floor.
  • Do not use acid cleaners as they attack the surface of the stone.
 

Adhesives

  • Titebond "GREEN Choice" heavy duty construction adhesive.
  • Titebond "FAST GRAB" SOLVENT FREE FRP adhesive.
  • Premixed grout and tile adhesive.
  • Acrylic copolymer based tile adhesive.
  • Polyurethane wood glues and PU construction grade adhesives.
  • Wood, parquet, and outdoor carpet adhesives.
  • Highly modified thin-set. Use only after testing. Not recommended where high adhesion is required.
  • Epoxy.
  • Silicone (with primer only)
  • Construction grade multi-purpose adhesive, Liquid Nails type.
  • Polyester resin with filler.
