As you know thin slate stone is a veneer which "expand" and "contract" so first we should have the recommendations from the adhesive manufacturer as the bonding must be tested by the installer prior to final installation.

The recommended adhesives & fillers are:

• Polyester-based gap filler putties
• Epoxies
• Silicone (with primer only)
• Polyurethane wood glues
• Thick latex-type adhesive, thin set etc. (uses only where air-drying can take place)
• Construction grade multi-purpose adhesives (eg. Liquid Nails or PL Premium Polyurethane

Please also take a note that the back of thin slate stone veneer may require a filler-type adhesive in some cases and in this case “Polyurethane” wood glues works very well to fill the gaps. For wet environment such as shower and bathroom applications we should use the epoxy.

Between every 2 sheets we put one crape paper, after this we will put each packet into the fresh & strong wooden crate, the inside of the wooden crate will be surrounded by thermocol sheets from all 6 sides and the wooden crate will be stripped by strong plastic belt.

Answer: No, the sun does not degrades the material as stone veneer sheets are extracted from the natural stone, hence the sheets remains the same. it does not change color .The stone surface of Slate Veneer, like most stone elements, acts as a UV inhibitor and will resist high sun conditions for years. When adhered to a substrate, Slate Veneer will handle thermal contraction and or expansion of most standard construction materials. Slate Veneer will handle both high temperatures and freezing without cracking.

Question: Are Flexible Stone Veneer Panels affected by heat?
Answer: Rajasthan Slate & Stone Exports Inc. Flexible Stone Veneer Panels can be used for wall cladding in extreme climates, such as 40 to 50 degrees Celsius or 104 to 122 Fahrenheit. Flexible Stone Veneer Panels should only be installed on the outward facing areas of a fireplace, and never exposed to a direct flame.

Question: Can we use the thin flexible veneer sheets smooth concrete walls or we can glue it on rough concrete walls?
Answer: Flexible stone sheets can only be glued on the smooth surface with the help of Poly urethane adhesive. Stone veneer sheets can not be glued on rough surface. The surface has be somewhat smooth. Of course it can be glued on “concrete surface” but the concrete surface has to be eeeven. SLATE VENEER is a flexible stone veneer which can be applied over concrete, ceramic, wood, metal, plywood, fiberglass, backer board, tile, dry wall, painted surfaces, MDF, Masonite(R), door skins, cabinetry as well as many other substrates.

Question: What adhesive is used? / Which kind of stick glue we have to use . Pls advise ?
Answer: Recommended Glues / Adhesive are…the best Adhesive is Polyurethane adhesive. That’s what we recommend. The below mentioned Glues / Adhesive can also be used.. Depends on the availability in your local area.

1. Titebond "GREEN Choice" heavy duty construction adhesive.
2. Titebond "FAST GRAB" SOLVENT FREE FRP adhesive.
3. Premixed grout and tile adhesive.
4. Acrylic copliymer based tile adhesive.
5. Pliyurethane wood glues and PU construction grade adhesives.
6. Wood, parquet, and outdoor carpet adhesives.
7. Highly modified thin-set. Use only after testing. Not recommended where high adhesion is required.
8. Thick latex or acrylic latex type tile adhesive. Use only where air drying can take place. Not recommended for exterior applications.
9. Epoxy.
10. Silicone (with primer only)
11. Construction grade multi-purpose adhesive, Liquid Nails type.
12. Polyester resin with filler.

Question: What the big separate differences in fiber-glass backing, fiber-cotton backing, translucent backing, nano-stone technology?
Answer: Please note that the difference among all backings is the manufacturing. There is altogether different technique to make the thin veneer with:
(a) Fibre Glass Backing
(b) Fleece Backing
(c) Translucent Backing
(d) Peel and Stick Backing

Question: What type of pre-surface must be before glude the thin plates?
Answer: The pre-surface has to be even (Smooth) only then veneer sheet can be applied.

Question: How many years do the material placed on floor?
Answer: Please take a note that Flexible stone veneer can be applied on the floor but there should not be heavy traffic, it can be in homes’ flooring. Besides we recommend only those veneer colors which do not have flakes...I mean the colors whose surface is totally smooth like slate veneer sheets but the quartzite veneer sheets are not perfect for the flooring purposes.

Question: Can you please give us instructions about how we will glue your material on GRCA (precast) elements. Do you have any suggestions?
Answer: Yes you can glue the thin stone veneer on Fibreglass Reinforced Concrete (precast) but the surface has to be somewhat smooth & even. Flexible stone sheets can only be glued with the help of Poly urethane adhesive. Stone veneer sheets can not be glued directly on rough surface. For your kind information flexible slate stone veneer sheets can be applied over concrete, ceramic, wood, metal, plywood, backing board, tile, dry wall, painted surfaces, MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard)‎, Masonite (R), door skins, cabinetry as well as many other substrates.

Answer: Yes there is - Before opening the cane of Polyurethane Adhesive, you can place the sausage in the sun light to warm up, this makes it softer and very much easier to work with.

Question: What is the best way to fill small gaps from cuts or walls that are not square / straight?
Answer: When this happens you can feather into these gaps or bead the edges with either the polyurethane adhesive or use colour matching silicones. Make sure that the Thin Flexible Stone Veneer Sheets are completely sealed, prior to doing this if not you will have large staining problems when trying to clean up.

Question: What is the best cleaner to use for cleaning up?

Question: Can we get exclusivity for the product I want to make?
Answer: Yes we can think about the exclusivity of this particular product for your region but that can be decided after successfully doing our first mutually beneficial business deal…we hope you will agree with us on this point.

Question: What is the price for this material? (Per container)?
Answer: You know the veneer sheet prices are always being quoted “on the basis of approximate quantity requirement of the customer”, because if you will give us small order then we will calculate the prices on courier basis or on LCL (sea or air) shipment basis by sea container, but if you give big order like in container, then the price calculation will be different. I hope you understood my point of view. So please convey me the approximate quantity so that I can give you the exact & most competitive prices. If you do not have any quantity idea then we can give you our EX-WORKS price.

Question: How to install / installation the flexible stone veneer sheets?
Answer: First we will need a hand roller to remove the air between the Slate Veneer and substrate (door, floor and wall). To properly roll out trapped air, start in the middle of a sheet while firmly rolling to the edge. Do not press too hard while rolling as this may cause back-filled areas to push adhesive out and leave an air void. By proper pre-back-filling and using good rolling techniques a solid, hard surface will be achieved. It is as simple as the carpenter does in case of installing the “sun mica sheet” on the wooden surface, the same process will apply here. It is also to be noted that flexible slate veneer sheets can only be glued on the smooth surface with the help of Poly urethane adhesive. Stone veneer sheets can not be glued on rough surface. The surface has be somewhat smooth. Of course it can be glued on “concrete surface” but the concrete surface has to be even (Smooth), it means the concrete surface should not harsh. SLATE VENEER is a flexible stone veneer which can be applied over concrete, ceramic, wood, metal, plywood, fibreglass, backer board, tile, dry wall, painted surfaces, MDF, Masonite (R), door skins, cabinetry as well as many other substrates.

Question: The temperature of the veneer can last up to how many Cº degrees?
Answer: As you know...flexible slate Stone Veneer is made up of natural slate stone layers and on the top which is a natural stone and is resistant to UV (ultra violet) rays of the sun. It has natural inherent property against heat & cold. Flexible Slate Stone Veneer is resistant to high temperatures and sustains freezing temperatures without any bad effect. As per the scientific test done by laboratory under the IS:2046 Guidelines the temperature limit is 1900 centigrade. Thin Slate Stone Veneer can bear both high temperatures and freezing without cracking.

Question: Can it last humidity?
Answer: Yes first we should evaluate the Humidity and temperature of the environment of the location where we want to apply the thin slate stone veneer sheets, especially in the outdoors. Thin slate veneers like Silver Shine, Silver Shine Gold, Autumn Mist, Indian Multicolour and California Gold which contain heavy mineral & iron deposits and they may react to moisture. Stone bleeding which is known as stone rusting is a common example of this. These 3 types of stone veneer sheets should not be used at those places where they would be exposed to standing water or running water or with too much humidity. In this situation "a stone sealer" is strongly recommended but the stone sealer can not prevent chemical reaction from happening. So we request you to please contact your sealer manufacturer who can suggest you more ways to protect your stone veneer sheets from moisture exposure due to humidity.

Question: How to cut the flexible stone veneer sheets?
Answer: Flexible Slate veneer sheet can be cut with Masonry Disc or Laminate Flooring Circular Saw Blade on table or by Long Nosed Tin Snips. To cut the curves we should use only the Long Nosed Tin Snips. It is as simple as the carpenter does in case of cutting the “sun mica sheet”, the same cutting process will apply here.

Question: Please also tell me how many crates / how many square meters does a container will have for veneer sheets?
Answer: Total 22 crates will go in one container i.e. (22 x 350 sheets in each crate) so total sheets will be 7700 sheets i.e. 5730.34 sq. mtrs. (7700 x 0.74)

Question: Also do you sell the glue, and how much does this cost?
Answer: No, we do not sell the glue, I request you to please check with your local dealers of the Furniture / Timber shops they can help you in this regard, it would be glued in same way as they glue the sun mica.

Question: Do you import this material or produce?
Answer: We only produce the material, we do not import.

Question: Pls advise what kind of elements made of?
